Readers of the popular Parade magazine voted the 2013 Commencement addresses by MCC’s David Langlois and Sgt. Robert Bowyer among the Top 10 best collegiate student graduation speeches in the nation.
Parade asked readers to send videos of student graduation speeches from high schools and colleges around the country for the magazine’s “Own the Room’s Speaker Contest.” The MCC videos were entered by Tina Dee, director of Foundation and Strategic Planning at the college.
Readers across the country reviewed the submissions and voted for their favorite videos. Langlois and Bowyer, who spoke on behalf of the Class of 2103 at MCC’s Commencement in L.C. Walker Arena on May 2, finished in 10th place in the national competition.
