‘A Springtime of Music’ Features MCC Vocals April 26

The MCC Collegiate Singers

“A Springtime of Music” will be presented by the MCC College Singers and Collegiates on Sunday. April 26, at the First Congregational Church, 1201 Jefferson St., Muskegon.

The free concert, which begins at 3 p.m., will feature both collegiate vocal groups directed by Thomas Clark.

The College Singers will perform four selections: “Rejoice, Sing and Praise from Coronation Anthem, No. 2” by George Fredric Handel (1685-1759); “O Music” by David Brunner; “MLK,” words and music by U2 and featuring soloist Edward Sanders Jr.; and “Ride the Chariot” a spiritual Arr. by William Smith and featuring  soloist Anna Beebe.

The Collegiates will offer three selections: “Salmo 150” by Brazilin composer Ernani Aguiar; “Amor De Mi Alma -You are the Love of My Soul,” by  Randall Stroope with distinguished text by Garcialso de la Vega (1503-1536); and “My Soul’s Been Anchored In the Lord,” a spiritual arr. by Moses Hogan.
