Student Panel to Discuss Immigration Issues

Muskegon Community College will host “Student Panel on Immigration: Real Talk about the Wall and the Travel Ban” on Thursday, March 30, at 5 p.m. in Stevenson Center Room 1100. The event, which is free and open to the public, is being organized by MCC students. The student panelists are: Eric Carballido, Jericho Gonzales, and Kendal Schmitt. MCC Sociology Instructor Nicholas Budimir will be the moderator.
Topics and questions will include: the size and scope of recent immigration into the U.S.; the controversy over unauthorized/undocumented/illegal immigration; Dreamers; DACA; “the wall”; the various Presidential travel bans; and how to construct a sensible and humane immigration policy.
