MCC Collegiates and College Singers to Perform April 30

The College Singers Winter 2017

The MCC Collegiates and College Singers will perform on Sunday, April 30, at 3 p.m. in the First Congregational Church, 1201 Jefferson St., in Muskegon.

Joining in the program will be choir members from the First Congregational Church of Muskegon and the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven. The concert will be accompanied by MCC’s Dr. Solee Lee-Clark on piano and Cheryl Lohman on organ.

The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

The Collegiates, who will sing in New York City’s Carnegie Hall in June, will join with the College Singers to give a preview of their performance of “Dona Nobis Pacem” by Ralph Vaughan Williams and conducted by Dr. Nina Nash –Robertson. The performance will feature soloists Dr. Eric Hoy Tucker, a baritone, and Dr. Latoya Lain, a soprano, both of Central Michigan University. The Collegiates will also perform “the New Moon” by David N. Childs.

The College Singers will perform “In Virtute Tua,” by Grzegorz Gorczycki, “The Lake Isle” by Ola Gjeilo, “The Elemental Powers” by David Pegel, and “Witness” a traditional spiritual arranged by Jack Halloran.
