The Jayhawk Men’s Basketball team lost a heartbreaker 73-69 at Alpena Community College in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XII Tournament.

MCC started the game slowly and they fell behind by 14 with 8 minutes remaining in the first half. They used a late run to cut into the lead, but trailed 35-25 at half time. Once again the Jayhawks started the 2nd half slow, but they were able to pick it up and outscore Alpena 44-38. They got to within 2 points in the last minute of the game but Alpena used a timely offensive rebound, foul and a free throw to seal the victory. Jacob Mueller (Charlevoix) led MCC with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Jadakiss Lewis (Kalamazoo Central) chipped in 12 points.

MCC finishes the 2023-2024 season with a 7-7 conference record and 11-17 overall.
