The MCC Men’s Basketball team gave the conference leading Bay College Norse a scare in Escanaba, but ended up dropping a hard fought game by a final of 84-77.

The Jayhawks were hot from the 3 point line, shooting 50% for the game and they held a 39-34 lead at half time. In the 2nd half Bay outscored MCC 50-38 with many of their points coming from the paint. There were 9 lead changes throughout the game and 11 times, but in the end Bay picked up the victory to cement their first place standing. Jadakiss Lewis (Kalamazoo Central) was the top scorer for MCC with 18 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Ben Clark (Potter’s House) finished with 15 points, Jacob May (Ravenna) had 14 points and Darius Williams (Orchard View) added 12 points.

The Jayhawks are 5-6 in conference play and 9-15 overall. They travel to face Mid Michigan College on Wednesday, 2/21 with tip off at 7:30 pm.
