The Jayhawk Softball team stayed on a roll with a doubleheader win over Delta College, 13-9 in game 1 and 12-1 (5 inniings) in game 2.
Lilli Goodrich (Ludington) got the start on the mound and Brooklyn Galdeen (Oakridge) finished the game and picked up the win. Galdeen worked 5 innings in relief and allowed 1 run on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts. Jasmine Pastor (Oakridge) was perfect at the plate; 4-4 with a home run. Illeana Hatcher (Whitehall) was 2-4 including a double and a home run with 3 RBI’s, Galdeen was 2-4 with a home run and 4 RBI’s and Willo Staal (Fruitport) was 2-3 with 2 RBI’s.
In the nightcap Galdeen picked up her second win on the day working 5 innings and allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 3 strikeouts. Pastor stayed hot as she was 3-3 with a double and home run and 4 RBI and Rachel Romero was also 3-3 with 2 doubles. Galdeen and Olive Staal were both 2-3 with Galdeen clubbing another home run.
MCC is now 13-1 in the Northern Conference and 18-8 overall. They travel to Delta to finish the season series with a doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm.
