The Jayhawk Women’s Baskeball team lost 61-43 to host St. Clair County Community College.
MCC trailed 14-12 after the 1st quarter but early foul trouble and poor shooting in the 2nd quarter saw the Jayhawks trailing by 16 at the half, 33-17. In the second half the Jayhawks were able to keep up with the Monarchs in scoring, but once again it was too much to overcome the poor first half. “We didn’t play our best game today”, said Head Coach Jason Cooper. “This was a good experience for us, we have to be more focused from the start”. McKena Wilson (Calvary Christian) scored 11 points and grabbed 8 boards for the Jayhawks, followed by Ty’veonna Davis (Muskegon) with 10 points and 4 steals.
The Jayhawk’s record stands at 6-6. They will host the Spring Arbor JV team on Tuesday, 1/9 at 6:00 pm.
