The Muskegon Community College Men’s Basketball team lost 79-65 on the final day of the Skippers New Years Classic to host St. Clair County Community College.
The Jayhawks struggled to score in the first half shooting only 30% from the field and 10% from the 3 point line. They were able to cut the lead to 8 about half way through the half but trailed 44-24 heading into the lockeroom. MCC outscored the Skippers in the second half but it wasn’t enough to overtake SC4. Jacob Mueller (Charlevoix) was a bright spot for MCC leading all scorers with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Jacob May (Ravenna) was the only other Jayhawk in double figures with 10 points.
MCC is now 4-9 on the season. They open conference play with a trip to Alpena Community College on Saturday, 1/13 with tip off scheduled for 3:00 pm.
