The Muskegon Community College Women’s Basketball Team lost to St. Clair County Community College 66-54 in the semi-finals of the NJCAA Region XII Tournament.

This was the 3rd meeting of the two teams with SC4 coming out on top in the other two meetings. MCC jumped out to a 14-9 lead after the 1st quarter, but the Skippers put up 24 points in the 2nd quarter to take a 33-27 lead at the half. MCC fell behind by 10 in the 3rd quarter. They were able to get within 4 points but in the end SC4 prevailed. “It’s always tough losing your last game, but you have to look at the season as a whole,” said Coach Cooper. “We improved this year and I’m very proud of my team and the staff. The work will start tomorrow for next season.” Ty’veonna Davis (Muskegon) led the Jayhawks with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 steals with Arrionna Williams (Reeths-Puffer) adding 15 points.

MCC wraps up the 2023-2024 season with a 9-5 conference record, 16-13 overall.
