The Jayhawk Women’s Soccer team lost a close rematch to the Raiders of Grand Rapids Community College, 3-2.

GRCC got on the scoreboard with 2 goals in the first 15 minutes of play before Lydia Sowles (Mona Shores) scored at the end of a well constructed team play, assisted by McKenna Gentry (Muskegon Catholic Central). GRCC picked up their 3rd goal before the end of the first half and the Jayhawks played catchup the entire second half. Taeah Rensberger (Reeths-Puffer) tucked away a penalty kick in the second half to pull within one, but MCC couldn’t get the equalizer.

The Jayhawks are 5-9-1 in conference play and 7-9-1 overall. They return to action with a trip to Kellogg Community College on Saturday, 10/21 at 1:00 pm. Based on their 5-2 record in Region XII, good for 15 points, they have qualified to compete in the NJCAA Regional Championships at St. Clair County Community College on 10/28-29/23.
