The Jayhawk Women’s Soccer team finished the weekend with a dominant win over Marion University’s Ancilla College, 3-0.
MCC got a first half goal from McKenna Gentry (Muskegon Catholic Central), unassisted, as well as goals in the second half from Isabella Cifuentes (Zeeland West) assisted by Gentry and Lainey Canan (Zeeland East) assisted by Cifuentes. The goaltending duo of Grace Caywood (Zeeland West) and Brieann Hamman (Whitehall) kept the Chargers off the scoreboard, while Lydia Sowles (Mona Shores), Julie Hernandez (Fremont), Taeah Rensberger (Reeths-Puffer) and Emma Peterson (Montague) played essential roles during the match.
MCC is now 2-5 in conference play and 3-5 overall. They travel to St. Clair County Community College for a game on Wednesday, 9/20 with game time at 4:00 pm.
