A panel discussion, titled “The Timeless Impact of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: Local Reflections,” was taped on Jan. 14 and will be shown on Monday, Jan. 17, in recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. national holiday.

To watch the video, visit the MLK Unity Breakfast webpage at https://www.muskegoncc.edu/mlk-unity-day/

While MCC had to postpone its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Breakfast until June 10, organizers wanted to offer a tribute to the legacy of Dr. King on the holiday. Four panelists met on the MCC campus to share their personal thoughts. They are:

  • Ken James, Chief Diversity Officer, Muskegon Community College
  • Kimberley Sims, Former Mayor/Community Advocate
  • Darius Mitchell, Director of Housing and Economic Security for the Urban League of West Michigan
  • Nicholas Budimir, Sociology Instructor, Muskegon Community College

Tickets and information about the rescheduled Unity Breakfast with keynote speaker Donna Brazile, who is a Washington D.C. political strategist and regular national news contributor, can also be found on the Unity Breakfast webpage.
