MCC Musicians, Singers to Perform Downtown Holiday Pops Concert Dec. 9

There’s a forecast for flurries, family favorites and joyful song on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 9, when the Muskegon Community College performance ensembles are joined by St. Nick in downtown Muskegon for a fun-filled Happy Holiday Pops concert.

 The festive music, which includes classics like “White Christmas” and Handel’s “Halleluiah Chorus,” plus a Christmas sing-a-long and much more, begins at 3 p.m. inside Central United Methodist Church, 1011 Second St. The concert and the reception that follows are free and open to the public. Santa Claus will make a special visit.

 The concert features the MCC Wind Ensemble conducted by Daniel M. Meyers, the MCC Jazz Ensemble directed by Tim Froncek, and the College Singers directed by Thomas Clark and accompanied by Dr. Solee Lee-Clark, with special guest performer, contralto Gwenneth Bean.
