Talk Back, a panel discussion of our community’s neighborhoods, will take place tonight, Tuesday, Feb 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Blue and Gold Room on campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The panelists are: Floyd Cook, Institute for Healing Racism; Ciggzree Morris, a local African-American realtor; Sarah Rinsema-Sybenga, director of community development organization Community enCompass; and Tom Harryman, MCC theater instructor and former City of Muskegon planning commission member.
The event follows the MCC Arts and Humanities Department’s presentation last week of the critically acclaimed play, “Clybourne Park,” which tackled the issues of race, gentrification and neighborhood communities. Throughout the play’s run, patrons were asked to share their reflections of what their neighborhoods mean to them. Those responses will be discussed this evening.
