The Jayhawk Track teams competed at GVSU in the Mike Lints Open.

The Men’s team saw multiple athletes with great results led by sophomore Kyler Dean (Vicksburg) who ran an easy 4:17 mile, good for 11th in the nation, a new school record and qualifying him for the NJCAA National meet. Freshman Bryce Turner (Stow-Munroe) ran a great 400m with a 3rd place finish, just a step off of former Jayhawk Zack Pray. Turner’s 49.3 puts him #15 in the country. Isaac Easter (West Ottawa) matched his outdoor pr from last year in the long jump finishing 4th overall good for #17 in the country. Based on their first meet the Jayhawk men break into the top 20 for the first time in school history with enough points to start at #18 in the country,

For the Women’s team Natalie Erickson (Montague) broke the school record in the 60m with an 8.1, good for 6th at the meet and #19 in the country. Steffanie McGuffey (Muskegon) matched the school record in high jump with her first jump of the night.

The Jayhawks will be back in action on Saturday, 1/27 when they travel to Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH for the Steemer Classic.
