The Jayhawk Women lost to the visiting Bay College Norse 80-73.

The visitors used balanced scoring with 18 points in the 1st and 2nd quarters to take a 36-26 lead into the locker room at the half. The Jayhawks picked up their scoring in the 3rd and 4th quarters but it wasn’t enough to overtake Bay. “This was a game we surely could have won today,” said Coach Jason Cooper. “We did not compete in the first half and fell behind early; our defense let us down the whole game and we have some work to do.” MCC was led by Ty’veonna Davis (Muskegon) with 29 points and 14 rebounds. Arrionna Williams (Reeths-Puffer) finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

MCC is 1-1 in the Northern Conference and 7-8 overall. They hit the road on Wednesday, Jan. 24 to take on Grand Rapids Community College at 5:30 pm.
