The Jayhawk Men’s Basketball team opened up the Mott Roundball Classic with a 72-57 loss to Schoolcraft College.
MCC struggled to take care of the ball in the first half with 6 turnovers that turned into points for Schoolcraft. They also struggled to keep the Ocelots off the offensive boards. The score at the half was 43-32 in favor of Schoolcraft. In the second half Schoolcraft was able to stretch the lead to 16 before MCC put together an impressive run to get within 6 points with 6 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately the Jayhawks ran out of gas and they wouldn’t get any closer. Jacob Mueller (Charlevoix) led a balanced Jayhawk attack with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Jadakiss Lewis (Kalamazoo Central) also scored 12 with 5 boards and 2 steals and Tate Stine (Montague) chipped in with 10 points.
MCC is 4-6 on the season and they will face the host team, Mott Community College, on Saturday, 12/16 at 5:00 pm.
