The Muskegon Community College Men’s Basketball team dropped a heartbreaker to Mid Michigan College 95-89.

The Jayhawks started the game slow, had trouble finishing around the rim and found themselves down by 10 early in the contest. Foul trouble sent a couple of the starters to the bench in the first half and they trailed heading into the locker room 46-36. In the 2nd half the Jayhawks came out ready to play and they outcored the Lakers 53-49. There were 3 lead changes and 5 ties but MCC turned the ball over late in the game that led to points for Mid Michigan and they held on for the win. Jadakiss Lewis (Kalamazoo Central) finished with 21 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds and Darius Williams (Orchard View) had his best night as a Jayhawk with 14 points and 3 steals. Ben Clark (Potter’s House) also finished with 14 points and he added 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Jayhawks are now 3-2 in the Northern Conference and 7-11 overall. They travel north to take on Alpena Community College on Friday, 2/2 with tip off at 7:00 pm.
