Acclaimed stand-up comic to perform show in support of Lifelong Learning Fund

In an effort to raise awareness and support of the Lifelong Learning Fund, Muskegon Community College (MCC) welcomes stand-up comedian Marty Simpson to the Overbrook Theater Friday, April 12, 2024, at 7:30 PM. Hosted by the Center for Experiential Learning and the Foundation for Muskegon Community College, proceeds from the fundraiser will provide continued access for free, or reduced-cost learning opportunities to Lakeshore residents that include speakers, cultural trips, and more.

Attendees can expect an evening filled with laughter, as Marty Simpson’s comedy has gained widespread national recognition, with appearances on various platforms including ESPN, B.E.T., Nickelodeon, and Amazon Prime Video. As a finalist in the television series Trial By Laughter and a favorite at Big Pine Comedy Festival, Marty Simpson has established himself as a standout talent in the comedy world. His unique style is influenced by his personal experiences, including 28+ years of marriage, raising two children, and his tenure as a head high school football coach and drama teacher.

“Marty Simpson stands out as a truly gifted comedian, effortlessly delivering humor without resorting to vulgarity,” said MCC’s Chief Advancement Officer Sue Samaniego. “We hope his performance will shed light on The Lifelong Learning Fund, its importance, and the impact it makes on the lives of so many on the Lakeshore.”

A special gift is available to alumni who purchase tickets if they have updated their contact information at https://www.muskegoncc.edu/alumni-relations/stay-connected/ in 2024.
