The Jayhawk Softball Team split on Thursday, 3/7; They lost the opener to Bryant and Stratton College 10-3 but bounced back for a 10-9 victory (8 innings) over John Melvin.

In game 1 MCC had 3 players finish with 2 hits; Jasmine Pastor (Oakridge) was 2-4 with 2 RBI and a home run, Willo Staal (Fruitport) was 2-4 and Lilli Goodrich (Ludington) was 2-4. Goodrich was the starting pitcher.

Hannah Aldred (Grand Haven) got the start in game 2 and Brooklyn Galdeen (Oakridge) came on in relief. They each worked 4 innings and gave up 4 hits. Galdeen led the team at the plate going 3-4. Three players finished 2-4; Pastor, Illeana Hatcher (Whitehall) and Willo Staal (Fruitport). Stall picked up the game winning hit with a walk-off triple in the bottom of the 8th.

MCC is 3-4 on their trip. They return to action with Friday, 3/8 with 3 games scheduled.
