Golf at MCCAA Region XII Championship-St. Clair Golf Club
The Muskegon Community College Golf Team finished in 3rd place at the NJCAA Region XII Tournament and qualified for the NJCAA National Championship in Joplin, MO starting on 5/17/22. MCC shot a final round of 325. Zach Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) and Tai Chamberlain (Grand Haven) led the team, shooting 78. Steve Cullen (Whitehall) shot 83, Andrew Taylor (Mona Shores) shot 86 and Cody Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) shot 88. Zach Petrtoski, Chamberlain and Cullen were all named to the NJCAA All-Region XII Team.

Softball-NJCAA Region XII vs. Jackson College
The Jayhawk Softball Team dropped a 3-1 decision to Jackson College in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XII Tournament. The game was a pitcher’s duel with MCC holding a 1-0 lead until the top of the 5th inning, when Jackson scored a run to tie the game. Track & Field at Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet
The Jayhawks traveled to Ohio this past weekend to compete in the Baldwin Wallace Twilight Classic. We saw a school record fall on the track with Zac Pray (Fruitport) in a come from behind finish in the 200m dash to win his heat and finish 11th from heat 4 with a 22.29 which breaks the previous school record of 22.45. Softball-NJCAA Region XII vs. Edison State Community College
The Muskegon Community College Jayhawks defeated the Edison State Community College Chargers by a final score of 8-0. Makayla Thompson (Reeths-Puffer High School) pitched the shutout, allowing only 2 hits with 5 strikeouts. The Jayhawks totaled 12 hits with Brianna Pastor (Oakridge High School), Madison Clarke (North Muskegon High School), Kendyll Bond (Jenison High School), and Hayden Ruel (Oakridge High School) all with multiple hits for the Jayhawks.
Softball NJCAA Region XII vs. Lansing CC
The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk’s season ended with a 6-2 loss to Lansing Community College in the Region XII tournament. Madison Clarke (North Muskegon High School) hit a homerun in the sixth inning. Hayden Ruel (Oakridge High School), Kendyll Bond (Jenison High School), Morgan Knapp (Whitehall High School), Clake, and Brianna Pastor (Oakridge High School) each had one hit throughout the game. MCC finished the season with a fine 34-10 overall record.

The Muskegon Community College Golf team completed the first round of the NJCAA Div II National Tournament with a team score of 320, good for 15th place. Steve Cullen (Whitehall) was low man for the day with a round of 77, followed by Andrew Taylor (Mona Shores) at 80, Cody Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) at 81, Tai Chamberlain (Grand Haven) at 82 and Zach Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) at 88. Round two will be played on Wednesday, 5/18/22.

The Jayhawk Golf team continued play at the NJCAA Div II National Tournament today. The team shot 322, good for 17th place, led by Tai Chamberlain (Grand Haven) with a 78 round, Andrew Taylor (Mona Shores) at 79, Steve Cullen (Whitehall) at 82, Cody Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) at 83 and Zach Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) at 85. Round three will be played on Thursday, 5/19/22.
Golf at NJCAA Division II National Tournament
On day three of the NJCAA Div II National Tournament, the Jayhawk Golf team shot their best round of the week with a 314. Low man for the round was Steve Cullen (Whitehall) with a 74, followed by Tai Chamberlain (Grand Haven) with a 77, Andrew Taylor (Mona Shores) with an 81, Cody Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) with an 82 and Zach Petroski (Reeths-Puffer) with an 84. The tournament wraps up on Friday, 5/20/22.

Due to weather conditions in Joplin, MO the Jayhawk Golf team did not compete in round 4 of the NJCAA Division II National tournament.
